Lizzie Taylor

Lizzie is a highly experienced and qualified (Level 7, CDI Registered Professional) university and career guidance counsellor. She works as an independent consultant, trading as Lawes Taylor. Alongside private careers consulting, she was most recently Head of Careers at Comberton Village College Cambridge, UK, and then Careers Advisor for St Bede's School, Cambridge.  Recent clients via Morrisby have been The Leys School, Cambridge; Stephen Perse Foundation Cambridge, and Berkhamsted School, UK, as well as international students from Australia and Singapore. 

She provides university and career guidance counselling to young people generally aged between 14 and 25, and specialises in helping students apply to competitive universities, including Cambridge and Oxford, and for competitive courses, such as Medicine and Law. Through experience she also understands the personal stresses and challenges faced by candidates and their families with this. Lizzie also supports students in obtaining work and other CV-building experiences, job and apprenticeship applications (including testing, assessment centre and interview preparation).

She is British Psychological Society qualified in Psychometric Testing, and has Morrisby accreditation for the Morrisby Profile for individuals.

Lizzie has a History degree from Trinity College Cambridge, an MBA from Bayes Business School, London, and a post graduate Diploma in Career Guidance from Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent. She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development - the professional body for Human Resources professionals.  She previously worked in top level executive search and recruitment for Michael Page and Spencer Stuart, and then in Human Resources (mainly talent acquisition) policy at British Airways plc and BAA plc. After a career break doing part time voluntary HR work for charities, she moved into career guidance and university entrance work in 2004 and has worked for four of the leading secondary schools in Kent and two of the leading secondary schools in Cambridge.
